02:53 am - Quick single line Doctor Who joke-stealin' review in re: The End of Time It's too late and I'm a little too swozzled to write anything more than this.
As Norm Macdonald on Weekend Update once said about a new Michael Bolton/Kenny G/Whoever Christmas album:"Happy birthday, Jesus! Hope you like crap!" More to come once my left arm stops hurting so much.

Uh, yeah. The writer/director is BEYOND self-indulgent. Can't wait for the next director to take over. I take it then that you didn't like it? I'm still a couple years behind on watching The Doctor. The Tenant stuff so far seems to be of very inconsistent quality--some stuff is absolutely among the best I've seen (The Girl In the Fireplace), other is trite and less fun than hokey old 60s-70s seasons. Still better than any 80s stuff. From: | zhym |

Also heavy with the Jesus Doctor references early in the episode. Really, RTD: the Tardis in a church window?
I'm hoping Part 2 will suck significantly less. Timothy Dalton looks like he should be in mustache mode (Dalton w/o mustache: crappy dour Bond. Dalton w/ mustache: jolly fun, as in The Rocketeer or Hot Fuzz). But that's enough RTD. Bring on the Moffat years. |
