|01:01 pm - HE LEFT RIVER CITY THE LIBRARY BUILDING BUT HE LEFT ALL THE BOOKS TO HER|
Serendipity! The Music Man has been on all this morning. IT'S LIKE THEY WAS READING MY MIND FROM LAST WEEK AND SAID OK IF THE GUY WANTS SHIPOOPI, GIVE HIM SHIPOOPI GOSHDARNIT.
Yes, you can have movies on DVD, and you can watch things whenever you want, but there's still that simple bit of joy you get when you turn on the TV and oh hey presto there's just what you were thinkin of! (Ye gods!) That kinda tiny twinge will never ever ever go away. From me, at least.
I always take it as a validation of my personal truth when that happens.
Yes. And can I satisfactorily explain this to my roommates? No, I cannot. Sigh.
("...you know the DVD of this is sitting right there, right? And you can watch it without commercial interruptions and with all the DVD extras."
"I know. It's not the same.")
Every day God looks down from above and weighs the heavy decision of who to bless with the programming schedule. He picks one person and leaves the rest of the schedule for Satan to work out.

That's one of my all-time favorite tunes, the combination of all the pick a little talk a littles and the rest always make me smile.
I finally saw Music Man, sadly on DVD, while I was on vacation. Still can't stop singing Shipoopi, and now we're also saying "ye gods" all over the place!
