First: Gmail appears to be using the slow tubes right now; I'm just now getting email I should have received three hours ago.
Second: You can put down the "SIGN MIKE LOWELL" signs now, Sox fans, cause they've gone and made an offer and he's agreed. "In principle", at least.
I know at least one person who'll be thrilled to the gills to hear this news.
Re-signed Schilling, re-signing Lowell, not going after A-Rod ... things are good in Red Sox Nation right now.

Thanks for the Heads-Up!
I just e-mailed my Red Sox Fan friends. I'm sure they'll be extremely happy about this news.
Lowell is coming back and you made a Commitments reference.

"thrilled to the gills" is a reference to that movie?
No. "He's agreed...in principle." is a line from that movie. I used to have big sections of the script memorized. :)
The phrase was mentioned in the article. Serendipity!
it's "ride, sally, ride", not "roide, fockin sally roide"
I heard it on NPR in the car earlier today and squealed with glee. YAY!!!!
i'll never forget that phrase "RBIbrows."
