11:41 am - on the occasion of the 30th anniversary
When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck, sayin "Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya."
At 7 PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said "Fellas, it's been good to know ya."

They play that song on this day on all the radio stations in Houghton, MI. Also, for MTU Winter Carnival, it doesn't matter what the theme is, someone builds a Edmund Fitzgerald out of snow.

And the cook's just so laconic about it. If anything, he seems more perturbed by the fact that dinner was a wash than by the fact that the ship's going down.
