Just a few observations, completely unrelated to this whole Supreme Court bombshell and brouhaha. I swear.

1. Why does the South Station Red Line complex smell like a pet store? And I don't just mean for today, I mean like all the time. Are they storing hamsters and gerbils somewhere? Are these hamsters and gerbils peeing prodigiously into copious amounts of cedar shavings? (Or is it just because the Silver Line stinks? Tee hee hee.)

2. While walking thru the Wharf District today I passed by a classy-lookin Chrysler 300M. You know, one of them fancy-schmancy vee-hickuls what with the shiny shiny finish and the vroomy vroomy engine and all that stuff. There was a placard on the dashboard reading "City Elevator Inspector". Must've been making the rounds somewhere. I don't know about you but I'm heartened to know that Boston pays its civil servants well.

3. I'm sure there was a #3 somewhere, but to hell with it. I'm posting!

Well, if'n you want one, all you and yours gotta do is come on down to Boston, then get a job as an elevator inspector, and inspect some elevators! (You may even take some kickbacks, you never know!) Then once the profit kicks(back) in, whee hee hee! A 300M for you!

Why does the South Station Red Line complex smell like a pet store?

It may be sweeping compound, which is this sort of sticky material that dust and dirt sticks to. They toss it out on the ground and then sweep it up and then you don't need to mop, see? But it does have a particular smell which may be a pet store smell, I'm not sure. It's not a bad smell, just a sort of woody and chemically and... well, a bit rubbery smell, I guess. It's hard to describe and even more diffucult to forget.
