04:29 pm - More Minecraft dark riding I've gone and named the dark ride project Jinx, and have added a whole bunch to the 1.5 build:
Fun fact! Maybe! The ivy on the side of the wall was originally in the shape of Tetris pieces but then they grew.
I've also got a small Picasa album up with a current layout map and some construction pics with nifty bits of circuitry.
This little experiment thingo is turning into a spot of fun. There's still a lot to go, but I think I've got a very good idea for the finale.

Please tell me you're using an editor for that and not hammering it all into place block by block. Building it block by block. I find it remarkably soothing and with decent music playing for wallpaper media, I can put up walls and floors in no time flat.
I am also building this in Creative mode because screw trying to mine enough iron and redstone while dodging creepers and spiders. ![[User Picture]](http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/110261109/5595089) | | From: | sovay |

If you have to prune your topiary, this game rocks. Woah. That's engaging just watching it.
The colored rectangles section was super cool. Reminded me of the old flight sims with the outlined paths. That was awesome--really didn't expect it.
Then it's working! Hooray! ![[User Picture]](http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/8008457/866906) | | From: | mcsnee |

LOVE it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Have you messed around with tone blocks at all? I think the colored square section would be a perfect spot for some crazy eerie sound effects... Glad you dig it! I haven't played with tone blocks yet, but I may try 'em out on one of the final stunts. Depends on what tune I want to fiddle with. It's like the most elaborate Mario Kart Bowser Castle ever.
There might be liability problems with that one.

Nice! I also really like the texture pack you're using. Thanks! If I ever release the map, I'm definitely going to include the Painterly pack I'm using. ![[User Picture]](http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/112097891/555420) | | From: | markm |

I especially like the bit around 2:16-2:29 or so, in the dark with the squares. Very trippy. The Void is turning out excellent. I love how the structure dissolves into and out of blackness.
And yet I think the Hall of Flappy Doors is my favorite stunt. This is really good! For, you know, all the reasons people just cited.
Good Use of Medium. |
