Yeah, we got ourselves a copy of the full creator. Timmy (suction cup kitty) is currently undergoing rebuilding because something weird happened to his head and it moves strangely when he walks around. I don't know.

I know I put it on my own LJ, but in case you missed it--

Downloading the full editor as we speak. Why EA wanted $6 to keep a backup copy of a $10 game on their servers is beyond me.

Yeah, that was a great waste of money I was happy to opt-out. Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your purchase is backed up (yeah, backed up?) for... what? How long? I can't even say EA took a cue from Ticketmaster here as at least EA purports to offer a service, as opposed to Ticketmaster's "convenience fees" (which not only are a percentage of the cost of the ticket, but scaled so that they get a higher percentage of lower-priced tix.)

Good times, EA! Good times! Nobody knows how fileserving works, but everybody's keen on "insurance"! You pulled a fast one on us!

It's especially pleasant when one's relationship with a company begins with their attempting to rip you off in the very first transaction. But I'm sure that they made a fast $60,000 off of folks who didn't realize it was an option instead of a normal bit of billing creep.

Fark enters the fray

This features mostly textual reactions to this headline -- The official "post the abomination you made in the Spore Creature Creator" thread -- but you may find it's worth a scroll to see a few funny spores on down the page.

I've got my reasons why I don't visit Fark, but if they're using the creator for fun and creativity, and not wasting their time on an endless parade of dong monsters (I can only fear what 4chan might be up to) then more power to 'em.

Looking over the Fark thread, it's more of the customary adding dongs via photoshop to existing Spore creatures.

Just like normal.
