OH IT'S THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ... UH 6:00 TV HOUR
On Thursday last week I wrote a little ditty about Boston and Mooninites and 80s pop.
On Friday, [info]juldea, who I didn't know at the time, recorded a version of it.
And now, on Monday, we put our heads together and released the MP3 into the wilds of the Internets before the meme cools down and we move on to the next wacky catchprase.

So ladies and gentlemen, may I present the Mooninite Brand Timewasting Association and their hit single, 99 Mooninites.
An additional download mirror, courtesy [info]eye_ar_smaurt, is right here.
There's also a second mirror here as well. As Cory Doctorow would say, "Thanks, [info]gemini6ice!"
And [info]kevin_church has presented a handy page what plays the song without the use of any hidden wires, mirrors or other such devices of chicanery. Technology is amazing!

Tell your friends!
Tell your enemies!
Tell those towards whom you are ambivalent!

Perhaps you could get Tom to host it on MySpace--then we can all have it autoplay when folks view our profiles.

You'd probably need to set up a "Band Site" for TMBTA, though, which would probably involve more time on MySpace than you'd care to spend.

Or, alternatively, slap it on The Internet Archive.

Internet Archive is happy to host music with the performer's permission. They'll even automatically convert it into various higher- and lower-quality formats.

A few months ago, I got them to put up David Misch's Somerville song, from 1973. Download it, you'll like it.

I got 56 downloads so far. I didn't think anyone ever downloaded from mirrors. Our internets weren't doing so well for the last 2 days 'cause of weather...hope nobody had trouble downloading the file.

Even just making it on the Dr. Demento Show would be a lifelong dream fulfilled.

Tho the people I know who have XM are few and far between... is the good Doctor on any terrestrial station anymore?

Oog. Good question. It left KFOG in San Francisco close to 15 years ago.

This is AWESOME.

I would love to use this for the performance I have been putting together in reaction to the Mooninite event. I've been hunting for the right song to use, and have a couple of others in mind, but I couldn't stop laughing when I heard this.

I've already asked Sean's permission to do a piece, and he gave me the go ahead (I do burleque/neo-vaudeville/cabaret). Would you have any interest in allowing this to be used onstage, theatrically? (Free Publicity, hey!)

If not, that's ok too, I have other options. But its really damn cute.

Well, as the writin' half of the song duo, I'd be tickled pink (or any other color, depending on the lighting) if this were to be used on the stage, so please consider this a "feel free."

And please do keep me in the loop if you do end up performing this someplace near Boston; am always happy to help folks keep the spirit of Scollay Square alive!

Well, we are performing @ this Thursday's Jerkus Circus @ the Lizard Lounge, 9:30pm. :)

Thanks! I've actually picked out a couple of other songs options as well, and given the prep time I have left (still have to finish the costume), not sure if this bit will end up in this week's show, but I will try. May use a much shorter song, for simplicity this time around, but we will see! Gotta get gluing...I will re-use a sketch if it is successful, and often alter it, so I may evolve a bit with your song over time. If I do, I will be sure to record it, so you can see it.

I post gigs on my lj, or here: myspace.com/littleredcoquette.
